Who We Are

The AZGVG promotes the hobby of gardening with a focus on the fun of competition and the production of obscenely large healthy vegetables.  We grow giant pumpkins, giant watermelons, giant tomatoes, and many other giant vegetables that a gardener can, and does, grow in their patch.  We encourage, as well as recognize, all fruits and vegetables on the international competition list.

What We Do

  • We share gardening tips and information and help to encourage new members and new gardeners.
  • We coordinate with members, and Arizona fair officials, to ensure all giant vegetables are weighed according to international competition rules.

Our Promise

  • We will, to the best of our ability, treat each and every member equally and fairly.
  • We will continue to improve our organization for the benefit our members.

The hobby of gardening should be fulfilling, rewarding, and above all fun for everyone involved

AZGVG Mission Statement

The Arizona Giant Vegetable Growers Association (AZGVG) is organized as a nonprofit corporation in Arizona exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes. The AZGVG provides hand-on teaching support to gardeners, and horticulturists, seeking to grow giant vegetables – especially giant pumpkins. It encourages hobby growers to participate in giant vegetable (giant pumpkin) weigh-offs at festivals and fairs held locally, regionally, or nationally.

We want to help growers develop friendships, and create goodwill, through our shared hobby of growing giant vegetables in the Southwest Deserts (Arizona, Southern Nevada, and New Mexico)

We believe everyone should grow giant vegetables — especially giant pumpkins – and we’re here to help.

The Arizona Giant Pumpkin Growers Association is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization.
